Intrepid

Formed in Tallinn in 2016, Intrepid operates in a direct and technical death metal style, fed by dense songwriting, nerve-wracking riffs and precise rhythmic playing. The band emerged on the Estonian metal scene with the single Death in 2016, then the Empress of Devastation EP in 2017, before developing a longer format on the album Unused Imaginative Capacity in 2020. Intrepid then continued this trajectory with the Slaying of Sanity/Murder of Mind EP in 2023 and the Juxtaposition album in 2025. Over the years, the quintet has undergone several lineup changes, around a core consisting notably of guitarist Simo Atso and drummer Madis Kaljurand, present since the beginnings. Since 2018, the vocals have been handled by Raiko Rajalaane, with Siim Soodla on bass since 2017. In its approach, Intrepid combines the codes of contemporary death metal with a dry and tense execution, where accelerations, tempo variations and crafted guitar lines take a central place. Thus Intrepid is part of the Baltic extreme scene with a step-by-step path, between short formats, albums and live activity.
