Déhà
Under the name Déhà, the Belgian musician has been developing since the late 2000s a body of work focused on the most introspective forms of extreme metal. Based in Belgium, Déhà explores a range from depressive black metal to atmospheric doom, incorporating ambient textures and passages close to post‑rock, with compositions that are often long, repetitive and aimed at immersion. The project began in the studio, with a series of self‑produced recordings released online in the early 2010s, before occasionally moving onto the stage in intimate settings or at events devoted to extreme music. A multi‑instrumentalist and producer, Déhà records most instruments and vocals alone, inviting a few collaborators from European black and doom scenes depending on the project. Alongside the Déhà alias he participates in other formations such as Slow and Imber Luminis, creating a coherent whole in which slow funeral doom, abrasive black metal and dark ambient answer each other across projects.
