Tatanka

Born in Sarzana, Italy, Valerio Mascellino, known as Tatanka, developed a career tied to the rise of European hardstyle since the late 1990s. Initially active through several projects and aliases, Tatanka released his first maxi singles in the early 2000s before establishing a signature centred on direct hardstyle—built on heavy rhythms, incisive synths and a strong techno and rave heritage. His discography includes releases on labels such as Zanzatraxx, with tracks like 'Pumpin This' (2003), 'Don't Move' (2005), 'Borderline' (2008), 'On a Cloud' (2011), 'A True Story / Feel It' (2012) and 'The Process' (2018). Over the years Tatanka moved between solo productions, remixes and collaborations, notably with Zatox in the Tat & Zat and Wild Motherfuckers projects, as well as with Zany and Headhunterz. This activity places him within the Italian and Dutch hardstyle scenes of the 2000s and 2010s, where he evolved his sound between the genre's most frontal formulas and more melodic passages, while maintaining a club‑oriented aesthetic suited to large electronic events.
