DUG is a duo formed in 2023 by Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett, two musicians who craft a modern folk sound shaped by their travels between America, Scotland and Ireland. Their music blends the warmth of Irish ballads with the legacy of great American storytellers, driven by banjo, resonator guitar and sensitive songwriting where melancholy, humour and humanity intersect. With tracks like 'Big Sundown' and 'Jubilee', both preselected for the Grammy Awards, DUG has quickly established itself as a distinctive voice in contemporary folk.
