MakeWar

Based in Brooklyn, MakeWar brings together singer‑guitarist Jose Prieto, bassist Edwin Santacruz and drummer Alejandro Serritiello — three South American musicians whose backgrounds are rooted in New York’s independent punk scene. Active since the 2010s, the trio develops a melodic punk rock infused with emo and alternative rock, producing songs that alternate between raw tension, instantly catchy choruses and more introspective writing. MakeWar operates on a tightrope between nervous energy and a sense of melody, in a direct format where the lyrics combine personal experience with social observation. On stage, MakeWar delivers a compact, physical performance close to the DIY spirit, placing significant emphasis on group vocals and proximity to the audience.
