Sturle Dagsland

From Stavanger, Norway, Sturle Dagsland has been developing a project since 2011, led by brothers Sturle and Sjur Dagsland, situated at the crossroads of experimental, electronic, folk, alternative rock and psychedelic pop. Sturle Dagsland’s music blends highly expressive vocals, electronic textures, acoustic elements and a taste for hybrid forms, with links to jazz, post-rock and traditional vocal influences such as joik. The Norwegian duo first made an impression on stage, where their very physical and changeable approach is central, before expanding onto an international festival circuit. They have performed at events such as Secret Solstice, Sled Island, Tallinn Music Week, Fusion Festival, South by Southwest, Canadian Music Week and the Oslo Jazzfestival, with a first documented North American appearance in 2015 in Canada. Depending on the live context, the project can also expand to include additional musicians.
