Parlor Greens

Parlor Greens brings together in the United States organist Adam Scone, guitarist Jimmy James and drummer Tim Carman in an instrumental trio rooted in the jazz-organ tradition. Parlor Greens develops a sound at the crossroads of soul-jazz, funk, instrumental rhythm and blues and film music from the 1960s and 1970s, with tracks built around groove, thick organ lines, a taut guitar and very tight drumming. Before forming Parlor Greens, its members circulated through various American scenes connected to soul, jazz and African-American music, which gives the project a collective aesthetic already evident on its earliest recordings. Their discographic emergence is realized with In Green / We Dream in 2024, an album that establishes the trio format and a concise, instrumental-focused writing style. On stage and in the studio, Parlor Greens favors direct interaction among the three musicians and a register that sits as comfortably in club soul as in contemporary jazz groove.
