Boppin' B
Formed in Aschaffenburg in 1985, Boppin' B initially built a repertoire rooted in the rock’n’roll and rockabilly of the 1950s, later incorporating touches of ska, swing, punk and pop over the decades. Boppin' B’s trajectory began within a school context and quickly extended to the stage, maintaining steady activity in German clubs and festivals. The band has undergone several singer changes, while guitarist Golo Sturm and drummer Thomas Weiser represent the continuity of its history. In its current line-up Boppin' B functions as an expanded ensemble in which double bass, guitars, drums and saxophones give the sound a very physical presence, sitting between boogie, rhythm and blues and fast rockabilly. Their discography starts with Bee Bop (1989), followed by The Look (1991), 100 % (1997), Scheißkapelle (2000) and 42 (2003). In 2004 Boppin' B released Bop around the Pop, an album of pop covers reworked in their rockabilly aesthetic, and went on to release Rock’n’Roll Radio (2008), B.A.N.G. (2010), We Don’t Care (2020), Saxbomb (2022) and Solid as a Rock (2025).
