Coco Maria

Born in Mexico and based in Europe, Coco Maria works as a DJ, curator and radio host focusing on musical flows between Latin America, the Caribbean and diasporic scenes. Her selections blend samba, cumbia, jazz, Brazilian music, Caribbean grooves and tropical-inspired electronic music, with particular attention to rarities, contemporary productions and South and Central American repertoires. This approach has been shaped through Club Coco, which functions both as a regular show on NTS Radio and as the programming framework for her parties and invited events. Coco Maria has also released two compilations on Bongo Joe, in 2021 and 2023, extending her practice of selection and contextualization around artists working at the borders of contemporary Latin music, danceable rhythms and experimentation. On stage she moves between clubs, festivals and radio, with appearances including Panorama Bar in Berlin, the North Sea Jazz Festival, We Out Here, GALA and Dekmantel Selectors. Her DJing is rooted in research, transmission and the assembly of diverse musical scenes into a single narrative.
