DJ Dag
Born in Mörfelden near Frankfurt, Dag Lerner made his mark on the German electronic scene from the 1980s and helped shape the emergence of the Sound of Frankfurt, where trance, techno and a more melodic, atmospheric approach intersected. DJ Dag played at key local club venues — initially the Music‑Hall, then Dorian Gray between 1988 and 1993, and later the Omen — and his sets were also circulated via the hr3 Clubnight radio show. His career is closely linked to several collective projects: with Jam El Mar he formed Dance 2 Trance, active in the early 1990s, as well as Peyote; with Non Eric he launched Crazy Malamute, whose albums The First Chapter (1997) and El Niño (1998) extended a tenser progressive trance vein. At the same time DJ Dag developed a solo discography, notably the digital albums The Vinyls and Partners in Crime (The Unreleased Trax), both released in 2011. Later he collaborated again with PeteL. as The Flowmasterz, and worked with Dr. Motte, Anne Clark, Matthew Kramer and DJ Quicksilver. His style remains associated with broad, progression‑driven trance, built on hypnotic textures and a lasting anchorage in Frankfurt’s club culture.
