Bjørn Eidsvåg

Born in Sauda, Norway, in 1954, Bjørn Eidsvåg developed an early interest in songwriting as a form of personal expression, which he combined with theological training and ordination as a Lutheran priest. Active since the mid-1970s, he gradually established himself on the Norwegian scene with a Norwegian-language repertoire blending pop, rock and folk influences, driven by lyrics about faith, doubt, everyday life and human relationships. Eidsvåg's career spans several decades, with regular studio albums and an active concert schedule in venues, churches and festivals across Norway and the Nordic countries. His often narrative songwriting favors accessible melodies and spare arrangements that leave room for voice and words. He occasionally collaborates with other Norwegian musicians and remains associated with a scene where the singer-songwriter tradition occupies a central place.
