Dan Owen

Born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Dan Owen develops early a repertoire spanning blues, folk, rock and Americana, carried by a deep, gravelly voice and a guitar style shaped by his beginnings in local pubs. Initially seen alongside his sister, then solo under the name Bluesboy Dan, he drew attention in the early 2010s, particularly after online circulation of a Bob Dylan cover, The Ballad of Hollis Brown, in 2012. Dan Owen subsequently signs with Atlantic Records and releases the EPs Bad for Me in 2015 and Open Hands and Enemies in 2016, before a debut album Stay Awake with Me in 2018. His writing blends pop-rock formats, soulful accents and blues-based foundations while maintaining a songwriter's sensibility. Active on British and European stages, Dan Owen also tours with artists such as Birdy, Kaleo or Blanco White, in settings ranging from clubs to festivals. In 2023, Dan Owen released The Willow Tree, a second, more stripped-down album focused on personal songs and a restrained production that highlights his timbre and his compositions.
