Accusefive

Formed in Yilan on Taiwan’s northeast coast, Accusefive emerged in the late 2010s as a trio at the intersection of Mandarin pop, indie rock and contemporary balladry. The band’s repertoire is primarily in Mandarin and built around a dialogue between female and male vocals, melodic guitars and understated electronic arrangements, with lyrics focused on relationships, breakups and the everyday details of urban life. Accusefive first gained visibility on Taiwan’s independent scene, playing small venues and releasing music online, before gradually reaching a wider audience across the Sinophone world. Through singles and longer releases, the group has refined a songwriting approach that ranges from slow, narrative-driven tracks to more rhythmic songs close to alternative pop. Accusefive performs regularly in Taiwan and across several East Asian territories and is part of the recent renewal of independent Mandopop.
