Rickard Söderberg
Born in 1975 in Halland County, Sweden, Rickard Söderberg first trained as a pianist before turning to singing at the Opera Academy of the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. A Swedish tenor, Söderberg mainly operates in the operatic repertoire, with a strong anchor in Baroque, Mozart and Wagner, while also tackling oratorio and, later, musical theatre. Over the course of his career, he has performed on stages in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and more broadly across Europe, with regular appearances at Drottningholms Slottsteater and Malmö Opera. Among the roles associated with his career are Idomeneo, Don Ottavio, Oronte, Lurcanio and Loge, in an approach that emphasizes the clarity of line, the expressiveness of the text, and aesthetics ranging from Baroque to Romantic opera. His discography includes The Perfect Man (2008) and Castrato Arias - Uncut Edition (2009). Alongside the lyric stage, Söderberg has developed a media presence in Sweden through television, concert projects and public speaking, notably around LGBTQ+ issues.
