Sophie De Quay
Between Sion, Singapore and New York, Swiss singer-songwriter Sophie de Quay’s career has been shaped by a multicultural environment that nourishes a brand of pop blending electro influences with sounds drawn from world music. Born in 1990 in Sion, she began writing her own lyrics at an early age and trained in singing, stage performance and songwriting between Geneva and Paris, notably at the ATLA school, while deepening her study of Mandarin at the University of Geneva and later in Shanghai. Sophie de Quay developed a bilingual, then multilingual repertoire, performed in French, English and Mandarin and occasionally in Romanian, Spanish or Japanese during international tours. In duo with Swiss musician and producer Simon Jaccard, she released the Début EP in 2017, the self-produced albums Drop the Mask (2018) and Y (2021), and the EPs The Essence of Y (2022) and Soleil intérieur (2023), broadcast on various radio stations in Switzerland, Belgium and France.
