School House
Based in a century-old former school in Canada, the trio School House formed in 2021 when three friends moved in together and turned the place into a musical workspace. Rooted in contemporary folk that blends intimate ballads and upbeat tracks, School House relies on three-part vocal harmonies, narrative songwriting and a simple acoustic aesthetic close to the spirit of a campfire. The band began playing local and then national stages, notably opening for Canadian musician Alan Doyle, and at the 2024 Ottawa Music Awards they received the Group of the Year prize, while Faces Magazine named their debut album Album of the Year the same year. This trajectory led School House to win the Artist Showcase at the Mariposa Folk Festival 2024, earning them a spot on the festival bill, and to win the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase in 2025. Their discography includes a debut album released in 2023, followed by an acoustic EP in 2024, with a new album announced for early 2026.
