Mazingo

Located between Brittany and an imagined world nourished by the music of the southern United States, Mazingo brings together a Franco-American trio formed around blues-rock tinged with rhythm and blues, boogie, soul and Louisiana accents. The band emerged in 2020 and developed a repertoire of original compositions in English as well as French, with a direct approach where gritty groove, electric guitars, keyboards and inhabited vocals intersect, in a tight format that prioritizes the energy of collective playing. Mazingo’s aesthetics draw from American blues without being limited to it, adding a rootsy color and a live sensibility closer to bar rock than to heritage reconstruction. Present on blues and rock stages in France, Mazingo quickly builds its live activity before widening its reach. Their second album, Hey You, was released in 2024. In the same year, Mazingo won the France Blues Challenge, a milestone that leads the trio to represent France at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2025. In this still recent journey, Mazingo asserts a clear transatlantic identity, both anchored in the blues and open to more edgy and contemporary forms.
