Carla Schmitt

Active on the French techno scene, Carla Schmitt is a DJ and producer whose work blends fast rhythms, pronounced melodic lines and dark atmospheres. Trained in dance before turning to electronic music, she transposes that physical background into her sets, which are built around a tension between raw energy, groove and more introspective moments, often emphasized by vocal elements and repetitive motifs. Self-taught, she has been gradually shaping her studio universe and is notably behind the track “Red Ambition,” presented with her own choreography for the Exhale project, while developing a catalogue of releases on labels such as Dusk Records, KR, Gomboc Records and Voxnox, including the EP “Fragments.” Carla Schmitt’s DJ sets favor a techno that is both direct and narrative, navigating industrial aesthetics, trance touches and more hypnotic passages depending on the club or festival context. In parallel, she launched the Vibrate parties, conceived as an inclusive festive space where her approach to techno extends into the scenography and the relationship with the audience. Her tours have taken her to various countries across Europe, and later to North America and Asia, consolidating an international presence while remaining rooted in the European scene.
