Asha Banks

Between film sets and the studio, Asha Banks has built a career at the crossroads of pop and musical theatre. Born in 2003 in St Albans, England, she trained in acting and singing from an early age, attending weekend performing arts schools before enrolling at Elstree Screen Arts to study musical theatre and musical performance. She began as a child on television in EastEnders and Call the Midwife, then went on to a succession of roles on London stages — from Les Misérables at the Queen’s Theatre in 2012 to Spring Awakening at the Almeida Theatre in 2021, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. That stage experience informs her vocal approach: she develops contemporary pop centered on interpretation and songwriting, shifting between introspective ballads and more rhythmically driven tracks. On film, she appears notably in the musical The Magic Flute (2022) and in My Fault: London (2025), where her song “feel the rush” accompanies the credits. In the same year Asha Banks released her debut EP, Untie My Tongue, followed by How Real Was It?, a set of songs marked by intimate narratives, emotional tensions and coming‑of‑age themes, while continuing to take on television roles in parallel, including the series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
