Laura Lucas
Between Winnipeg, where she grew up, and Melbourne, where she lives today, Laura Lucas has been building since the early 2020s a repertoire that sits between indie folk, acoustic songwriting and mellow pop. Her music is based on direct, emotion-focused writing, with songs that move around the voice in an intimate register where memories, fragile relationships and personal transformation intersect. She began her discography with the EP Light the Candle, Hold the Mirror in 2022 and has continued with new tracks that establish a restrained, immersive format driven by expressive vocals and delicate arrangements. Laura Lucas has also collaborated with Lawson Hull on “I Imagine You Are Happy” and with Israel Cannan on “When the Fire Started,” two pieces that extend this contemporary folk vein. On stage she has shared bills with Harrison Storm, Winterbourne, Salt Tree and LANKS. Her debut album, There’s a Place I Go, is announced for 2025 and continues a universe oriented toward introspection and closeness.
