Born in 2022 from the meeting of violinist Joachim Baumerder and drummer Simon Lacouture, marta develops a duo format centered on live techno — conceived for the club but built from acoustic instruments and an intentionally compact setup. The marta project relies on a dialogue between repetitive pulse, rhythmic tension and organic timbre, where the violin abandons a classical melodic role in favor of a physical, cyclical and percussive approach. This places marta on the edge of live electronic music, instrumental performance and dance-music codes, with a direct, dense and uncompromising sound. From their earliest tracks, the duo has asserted an identity oriented toward stage and dance spaces, translating techno’s energy into an entirely performed format. After their first EP, ROOM, marta embarks on a new phase with PUSH, announced for 2026, whose track LINE was released in advance.
