Baths
Baths is the Los Angeles–based project of electronic producer and singer Will Wiesenfeld, born in 1989 in California’s San Fernando Valley. Trained early in classical piano, he turned in his teens to home production, first under the names Post-Foetus and Geotic, before developing Baths in the late 2000s amid Los Angeles’s experimental electronic scene. Baths’ music blends finely detailed electronic textures, fractured rhythms, and prominent vocal harmonies, drawing on electronic pop, indietronica, ambient, and abstract hip-hop influences. Signed to the Anticon label, he released Cerulean in 2010 and Obsidian in 2013, two albums that established Baths as a distinctive voice straddling intimate songwriting and elaborate electronic production. Romaplasm, released in 2017, expanded this world toward a more lush pop while maintaining meticulous attention to arrangements and atmosphere. In parallel, Baths gathered more direct or experimental tracks on the compilations Pop Music / False B-Sides (2011) and Pop Music / False B-Sides II (2020), and explored a more ambient-leaning side with his side project Geotic. On stage, Baths performs solo or with accompaniment, alternating vocal performances with more rhythm-driven reinterpretations of his catalog.
