Snowapple

Born from a musical trio more than fourteen years ago, Snowapple has evolved into an interdisciplinary collective based between Amsterdam, Paris and Mexico. The project brings together music, theatre, poetry and performance within an aesthetic that places alternative song, experimental pop, cabaret and stage writing in dialogue. Over time Snowapple has expanded its original format into touring musical and theatrical productions, educational programmes and several structures led by the collective, including the Jardin Rouge Festival and Casa Snowapple Mx, an artist residency space in Mexico. Snowapple’s work regularly engages with social and political issues—particularly feminism, equality and climate justice—and is not confined to the concert in the strict sense. This dimension also informs the SHE project, developed with the Ruigoord artists’ village and with Shirley Krenak and Cheryl Angel. Present on stages and in varied contexts across Europe, Latin America and beyond, Snowapple continues to develop its practice at the intersection of live performance, collective creation and theatricalized musical forms.
