Montparnasse Musique

Formed around French producer Aero Manyelo and Algerian DJ/producer Nadjib Ben Bella, Montparnasse Musique is noted for work that blends electronic music, percussion, and vocals—notably from collaborations with artists of the Congolese scene. Their approach connects traditional music, afrohouse influences, and more experimental textures. Montparnasse Musique released a self-titled EP in 2021 on the Real World X label, followed by the album Archeology in 2022, where the group deepened this dialogue between club rhythms, African polyrhythms, and songs in various languages. Their music is marked by repetitive structures, prominent basslines, and extensive use of choirs, conceived for both attentive listening and the dancefloor. The duo performs live at festivals and clubs across Europe and Africa, adapting their tracks to a more direct stage format while maintaining the idea of a bridge between European urban cultures and African musical heritage.
