Alber Jupiter

Formed in Rennes in 2017, Alber Jupiter is a bass‑and‑drums duo that explores the meeting point between psychedelic rock, krautrock and instrumental post‑rock. Their music is built on repetitive motifs, looped bass lines and a rhythm often close to the motorik beat, over which effects are layered to stretch the sonic space. The band develops pieces where gradual variation takes precedence over a frontal melody, with a marked focus on textures and dynamics. Alber Jupiter released their first album in 2019, We Are Just Floating in Space, which established the foundations of this spacey, drifting approach; they returned in 2023 with Puis vient la nuit, a darker record in tone while remaining rooted in the same immersive aesthetic. On stage, Alber Jupiter is part of the European network of psychedelic and experimental music and has shared bills with acts such as Föllakzoid, Camera, Acid Mothers Temple and Minami Deutsch, consolidating a distinctive position at the crossroads of progressive rock, repetitive trance and underground culture.
