Kareen Antonn
Born in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1980, Kareen Antonn—whose real name is Kareen Antonopoulou—grew up in a family with Greek and Spanish roots and developed her career in France. She emerged in the early 2000s in a pop-rock register with variety-show accents, characterized by a direct vocal style and songs that alternate between ballads, more uptempo tracks and acoustic touches. Her name spread widely in 2003 with “Si demain... (Turn Around),” a bilingual adaptation recorded with Bonnie Tyler, and again with “Si tout s’arrête (It’s a Heartache)” in 2004, another shared cover with the Welsh singer. After this exposure, Kareen Antonn pursued more personal work with the album Kareen Antonn (2006), followed by Live (2007) and Demain j’arrête (2010), where her pop opened up to rock and reggae colors. Her career also includes performances on the Paris circuit and an appearance on The Voice, la plus belle voix in 2013, which brought her back into the spotlight of a wider audience.
