Jodok Cello

Under the name Jodok Cello, Swiss cellist Jodok Vuille develops a solo project centered on the cello, at the intersection of contemporary instrumental pieces, acoustic pop and a neoclassical sensibility. Present on streaming platforms since the early 2020s, Jodok Cello circulates this repertoire through a series of tracks and videos released online in a format that extends the logic of solo performance. The writing favors clear melodies, repeated motifs and a focus on the instrument’s timbre, with restrained arrangements that keep a direct link to cello playing. This approach places Jodok Cello in an intermediate space between intimate concerts, creations designed for short formats and independent production. Behind Jodok Cello, Jodok Vuille therefore builds a personal project in which the cello becomes the centre of a contemporary, accessible and concentrated aesthetic.
