Chris Farren

Born in Michigan in 1986 and raised in Naples, Florida, Chris Farren first made his mark on the American indie-punk scene with Fake Problems, a band formed in the mid-2000s and active until 2014, where his songwriting combined punk energy, indie rock and pop melodies. After that period, Farren pursued a solo path while also launching Antarctigo Vespucci, a duo formed with Jeff Rosenstock, working in a power-pop, pop-punk and indie-rock vein with immediate choruses, often carried by an offbeat tone and blunt lyrics. As a solo artist he released Like A Gift From God Or Whatever in 2014, followed by the albums Can’t Die (2016), Born Hot (2019) and Doom Singer (2023), in addition to Death Don’t Wait (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) in 2022. His music relies on short, sharp songs—clear guitars, tempered punk tension, a knack for pop phrasing and dry humor. Farren has also collaborated with Jeff Rosenstock on the music for the series Craig of the Creek, sustaining a career rooted in DIY circuits, independent labels and American alternative rock scenes.
