Peter Jackson

Emerging from the Canadian hip-hop scene, Peter Jackson drew attention in the late 2000s with a direct style of rap built on blunt lyrics, accessible choruses and an aesthetic rooted in the North American hip-hop of the time. He broke into the Canadian touring circuit in 2008 with the Never Say Never Tour alongside D12, Royce da 5'9\", Joe Budden and Classified, and went on to play numerous dates across the country, including shows with Naughty by Nature. His debut album In My Life was released in 2010, at a time when he was opening for Tech N9ne, Slaughterhouse, Pharoahe Monch and Digable Planets. In the following years he maintained a steady stage presence with tours that also included French Montana, Ghostface Killah and D-Block. His discography features targeted collaborations, such as the track "Miss Right" with Sizzla Kalonji, which introduces a reggae touch to his sound, and "#1 Fan" with Karl Wolf. Peter Jackson has thus developed a career characterised by intensive live work, links between Canadian and American rap, and songwriting that sits between street rap, radio format and melodic collaborations.
