Sika Rlion

Originally from the island of Réunion, Sika Rlion develops a musical universe at the crossroads of reggae, rap, dancehall and soul, nourished from childhood by Réunion’s traditional music, notably maloya. Her career was built first on stage, in sound systems and open mics, where she honed a direct writing style and a vocal presence rooted as much in urban and Caribbean cultures as in her Réunionnais heritage. Sika Rlion alternates between French and Creole, with lyrics that address personal and societal topics without being confined to a single register. Her music progresses through intersections rather than compartmentalization, allowing reggae rhythms, rap phrasing, dancehall inflections and soul nuances to coexist in songs centered on voice and lyrical meaning.
