Mina

Based in London, Mina has developed since 2014 a practice situated between production, DJing and programming, at the crossroads of British bass music, a percussive club sound and Afro-diasporic rhythms, with a strong emphasis on melody and vocal work. She has released several EPs and remixes on her label Earth Kicks and has built a largely collaborative discography with producers such as Champion, Omagoqa, Dee Traits, Lamsi and anyoneID. Her artistic partnership with Ghanaian singer Bryte is central to her trajectory, with joint releases and tours across Europe, Asia and East Africa. Alongside her productions, Mina is rooted in grassroots club culture through Boko! Boko!, a collective she has run for around ten years in London, organising nights that encourage exchange between African scenes and contemporary electronic music. Her DJ and hybrid sets have taken her to stages such as Glastonbury, Nyege Nyege Festival, Nuits Sonores, the Jazz Café and Village Underground. Mina also hosts a monthly show on NTS and runs Club Soft, an alcohol-free daytime party in South London.
