Grissini Project

A French ensemble led by pianist and organist Romain Vaudé, Grissini Project has, since the early 2010s, developed work that bridges classical training and pop culture. Bringing together conservatory-trained musicians, Grissini Project builds programmes and arrangements in which classical music converses with soundtracks from video games, anime and film, with no hierarchy between repertoires. This approach has shaped an identity focused on acoustic interpretation, clarity of lines, and the rapprochement of scholarly notation with themes widely shared by video game and animation audiences. Throughout its trajectory, Grissini Project has developed activity onstage and online, in an ensemble format that varies according to projects while maintaining the same artistic line: making melodic, harmonic and narrative continuities audible between often separate universes. Around Romain Vaudé, Grissini Project has thus settled into a space where concert, arrangement and transmission naturally intersect.
