Citizen Kain

Emerging from the French rave scene, Citizen Kain has developed a sound that sits between melodic techno, progressive techno and a dark aesthetic, characterized by prominent basslines, tense progressions and writing conceived for the club. A French producer and DJ, Citizen Kain has made his mark over the years across a circuit of clubs and festivals, with appearances at events such as Fusion Festival, Nuits Sonores, Les Plages Electroniques and Piknic Électronik. His catalogue spans several labels in the international electronic scene, including Afterlife, Ellum, Upperground, Siamese and Atlant. He also runs his own editorial project through the label UNSEEN, launched in 2022 with the track Kiss Me Again. In 2023 he released Ricochet on Siamese and then Ghosts & Shadows on Upperground — two releases that extend a trajectory begun long before on the French and later international scene. For Citizen Kain the melodic dimension remains central, but it rests on a dense rhythmic framework and a continuous tension that draw both his sets and productions close to peak-time techno: direct and immersive.
