Pencey Sloe

Born in Paris in 2017 around Diane Pellotieri, Pencey Sloe has developed a format now focused on the duo she forms with drummer and percussionist Clément Hateau. Pencey Sloe operates in a space between dream pop, shoegaze, psychedelic rock and post-rock, with songs built on layers of guitars, clear vocals and a strong taste for cinematic atmospheres and darker contrasts. After a first self-produced eponymous EP in 2017, Pencey Sloe released the album Don't Believe, Watch Out in 2019, which laid the foundations for melodic and atmospheric songwriting. The subsequent trajectory shows a more collective approach between Diane Pellotieri and Clément Hateau, with denser and more nuanced compositions, without departing from this hazy, psyché aesthetic. Within the French scene associated with shoegaze and alternative music, Pencey Sloe fits into a lineage where sonic texture matters as much as song structure, with, along the way, a collaboration by Neige (Alcest) on the track “The Run .I”.
