Atacama

Born in Berlin around Kevin Hentschel and Rafael Gomez, Atacama is part of a trajectory that began in the early 2000s on the local psytrance scene, spanning club nights, open‑airs, label activities and explorations of several electronic subgenres. The duo adopted the name Atacama in 2012 to refocus their work on a more pronounced psychedelic trance, driven by sustained rhythms, progressive structures and compositions conceived for the dancefloor without losing density. Atacama developed a precise sound, at times dark, where electronic textures remain in constant motion. After several releases the project worked with Digital Om Records before continuing its activity with Iono Music. On stage, Atacama has performed at festivals and gatherings dedicated to electronic and psychedelic music in Europe and beyond, with appearances at Antaris, Fusion, Hadra, Mundo de Oz, Rainbow Serpent and Shankra. Between club and open air, Atacama keeps a clear anchor in Berlin psytrance while expanding its field of activity internationally.
