Kristin Velvet

Born in Australia and based in Berlin, Kristin Velvet has built, since the early 2010s, a career as a DJ and producer focused on forward‑facing, rhythmic house often tinged with techno, with clear nods to Chicago, Detroit, golden‑age hip‑hop and British big beat. Active in the Berlin scene as a Watergate resident, she co‑runs the Arms & Legs Records label with Daniel Steinberg, a framework that encompasses a significant portion of her discography. Her club‑oriented productions pair dry grooves, acid lines, chopped vocals and direct energy, while retaining a readable, functional approach for the dancefloor. Over the years her tracks have circulated widely in radio playlists and DJs’ sets, including a noted appearance on BBC Radio 1 with a Mini‑Mix and the track "The Undertaker". Remixes by Louie Vega, Mark Broom and Cari Lekebusch also demonstrate the breadth of her spectrum, between house, techno and more raw formats. Kristin Velvet performs regularly at clubs and festivals across Europe and beyond, from Berlin to London, Barcelona, Oslo, Copenhagen and Melbourne.
