Geneviève Racette
Based in Montreal, singer-songwriter Geneviève Racette works in an intimate folk and folk-pop vein, driven by introspective songwriting in both French and English. After a debut EP released in 2014, she has gradually built a discography focused on relationships, grief, resilience and self‑discovery, with songs featuring spare, often acoustic melodies that place the voice at the center. The album No Water, No Flowers, released in 2019, marked a step in this exploration of personal themes, followed in 2022 by Satellite, which continues to examine the cycles of love and life’s transitions and includes the duet “Someone” with Dallas Green (City and Colour). In 2024 Geneviève Racette released Golden, her fourth full‑length album, presented as a return to clarity after a darker period; the track “The Reasons (I’ll Be Alright)” is used in the TV series Heartland. Regularly touring Canada and the United States, she performs in small and mid‑sized venues and on professional stages such as Folk Alliance International, The Great Escape, AmericanaFest, Folk Music Ontario, NERFA and Canadian Music Week, while surrounding herself primarily with women musicians and industry professionals to shape her projects.
