SOFY
From Leicester, SOFY crafts alternative pop songwriting that blurs the lines between several British traditions, with tracks where the tension of trip-hop, the melodic efficiency of Britpop and the energy of garage rock intersect without fully merging. A singer-songwriter who remained independent early on, SOFY began circulating demos even before her first official release; they were quickly picked up by BBC Radio 1 and championed by artists such as Arlo Parks, Sam Fender and Yungblud. That initial visibility took her onto stages — from Glastonbury to more compact headline shows — while she developed a repertoire released across singles, two EPs and two full-length mixtapes. SOFY is also part of a new English guitar scene that freely integrates darker textures, direct choruses and songwriting rooted in everyday life. Her trajectory has seen her share bills with or open for Liam Gallagher and Sabrina Carpenter, and her music has also appeared on the soundtrack for EA Sports FC. SOFY’s songs retain a direct pop sensibility, but with grit, nervous energy and a sense of contrast that steers them away from overly polished formats.
