Kristin Korb
Bass, voice and vocal jazz come together in Kristin Korb, an American double‑bass player and singer based in Denmark since the early 2010s. Trained in the United States, Kristin Korb first attracted attention in the jazz world through her close work with bassist Ray Brown, who accompanies her on her debut album "Introducing Kristin Korb with Ray Brown" released in 1996. She subsequently built a career divided between concerts, recordings and teaching—notably on the US West Coast—before becoming firmly rooted in the Scandinavian scene, appearing in clubs, at festivals and on educational projects. Musically, Kristin Korb operates within an acoustic jazz idiom centered on swing and the standards repertoire, blending covers and original compositions with a meticulous focus on the interaction between her voice and the double bass. Her discography includes, among others, "Where You’ll Find Me" (2001), "In the Meantime" (2010), "What’s Your Story" (2013), "Beyond the Moon" (2016) and the winter album "That Time of Year" (2018), which reflect her evolution from an intimate trio to more arranged formats and her European anchoring.
