Scarlet Rebels

Based in Llanelli, South Wales, Scarlet Rebels play melodic rock that blends classic hard rock, direct choruses and songwriting rooted in contemporary British rock. Formed in 2018 around Wayne Doyle, Chris Jones, Josh Townshend, Wayne Esmonde and Gary Doyle, and later joined by bassist Carl Oag, Scarlet Rebels first made their mark on the Welsh rock scene and within the UK festival and specialist radio circuit. Their debut album, Show Your Colours, was released in 2019 on Rock of Angels Records, followed by the live album LIVE: Made In Sonic One in 2020, recorded during the touring restrictions. With See Through Blue in 2022, released by Earache Records, Scarlet Rebels slightly hardened their sound while retaining an accessible aesthetic—clean guitars, rock tension and FM‑friendly melodies—within a body of work marked by social and political themes. Where the Colours Meet, released in 2024, continues this direction with a broader production. Scarlet Rebels have also shared bills at events such as Steelhouse Festival, Planet Rockstock, Winter’s End and Rockpalast, and frequently link their shows to food bank fundraisers.
