Alto Aria

Behind Alto Aria is the Danish singer and composer Aria Leth Schütze, active from Copenhagen in a project situated between vocal writing, acoustic textures and experimental electronics. Alto Aria’s work explores the transformation of sounds and the dialogue between organic material and electronic production, blending elements of classical music with more contemporary rhythms and carried by a light, intimate voice. This approach places Alto Aria in a space where composition, ambient, experimental pop and hybrid forms related to the electronic scene intersect. Aria Leth Schütze also founded the label Rhizome in Copenhagen, focused on experimental music and alternative release formats. On stage, Alto Aria has shared bills with Meuko Meuko, Mabe Fratti and Okkyung Lee, and has produced mixes for stations such as NTS, Refuge Worldwide and Retreat Radio. Alto Aria has furthermore released a series of double singles on Posh Isolation.
