Make A Move

Formed in Berlin in 2017, Make A Move initially developed as a street collective with a variable geometry in the Kreuzberg district, around drummer and singer Jo Meyer, before taking the shape of a structured group. Today the project brings together an expanded lineup where drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and a brass section intersect, with two saxophones and a trombone, for a sound that sits between pop, funk, rap and jazz. Make A Move works pieces in German and French, with a marked taste for tight grooves, syncopated basslines, brass arrangements and a balance between rapped phrasing and melodic singing. After a first EP, Gib Dir, released in 2018, the band followed with singles and then launched during the 2020–2021 period the filmed Make a Move Show, conceived between concert and studio format, with several guests. Their first album, Bidde Bidde, was released in 2022. In 2023, the arrival of Sophie Lindmüller on keyboards and vocals made the group’s vocal balance evolve, notably on the track Endlich wieder and later on the 2024 EP Liebe. Make A Move released its second album, Hol mich ab, in 2025, continuing a trajectory rooted in the German live scene and in a blend of urban brass-band, dancing groove and writing attentive to daily life.
