Chanson Plus Bifluorée
Born in Montpellier in 1985 from the union of the duos Le Gong du Balayeur and Le Mécanophone, Chanson Plus Bifluorée has since its beginnings developed work centered on humorous song, parody and vocal polyphony. Initially formed of four members, the group later continued its journey as a trio with Michel Puyau, Sylvain Richardot and Xavier Cherrier. Chanson Plus Bifluorée builds its identity on detours of classics of French chanson, original compositions and variations of styles that range from variété to pastiche of older or theatrical forms, with an important emphasis on stage performance and music-hall. Noted from the late 1980s, the group settled in Paris at the beginning of the 1990s, performing notably at l’Européen, at the Olympia, at the Casino de Paris, at the Bouffes-Parisiens, at the Alhambra and at the Festival d’Avignon, while touring widely in France. Its discography includes notably Chanson plus bifluorée à l’Européen in 1991, Pourquoi les girafes ? in 1992, Jobard in 1994, Au bilboquet des planètes in 1999, Peinture à carreaux in 2005, La plus folle histoire de la chanson, de la préhistoire au slam… in 2009, Le Grand Casting in 2014, À table ! in 2018 and Au revoir et merci ! in 2021. Through its shows, Chanson Plus Bifluorée has also developed a facet aimed at younger audiences and projects mixing humor, covers, original writing and the transmission of the repertoire.
