Felix Lee

Based in south London, Felix Lee has developed since the 2010s a project situated between experimental electronic music, deconstructed rap, noise, post-club and shoegaze-like textures. His writing mixes abrasive guitars, saturated basses, very dense synth layers and urban noises, with a chanted, staccato vocal delivery that is often repetitive, detached and tense. Before using the name Felix Lee he also appeared under the alias Lexxi, notably on Total Freedom’s Blasting Voice compilation in 2012, and in production work tied to the same scene. Felix Lee then released the instrumental EP 5TARB01 in 2016 on his own label Endless, a track he later reused for his show on NTS and for a series of events on the margins of the club. Over the course of his career he has collaborated with Kamixlo, Ecco2k, Bladee, Whitearmor, Rainy Miller and Oxhy, within a network where mutating electronics, rap hybridisations and sonic experimentation intersect. Felix Lee’s tracks can operate as very rough club forms as well as fragmented songs, traversed by themes of spirituality, dreams, nightmares and urban life.
