Anirudh Ravichander
Born in Chennai, India, in 1990, Anirudh Ravichander made his name in Tamil cinema before expanding into Telugu and Hindi productions as a composer, playback singer and producer. Trained on piano and with experience in fusion bands, he has developed a screen-oriented writing style that blends Indian pop, electronic music, hip-hop, South Indian dance rhythms and more melodic ballads. His arrival came early with the score for 3 (2012), propelled by the song “Why This Kolaveri Di,” whose viral spread far exceeded its regional origins. Since then he has regularly collaborated with Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Vijay, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and directors such as A.R. Murugadoss, Nelson Dilipkumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj. Notable soundtracks along his trajectory include Ethir Neechal (2013), Velaiyilla Pattathari (2014), Kaththi (2014), Petta (2019), Master (2021), Vikram (2022), Jawan (2023), Jailer (2023) and Leo (2023). Anirudh Ravichander alternates between high-energy tracks, darker film themes and widely popular songs, in an aesthetic that is direct, dense and immediately accessible.
