Noromakina

Based in Bogotá, Noromakina is a solo project led by Juan Manuel, active since 2019 in a register spanning darkwave, brooding electro, coldwave, post‑punk and minimalist‑edged synthwave. Noromakina crafts music from lo‑fi textures, dry rhythms and cold, atmospheric pads, often featuring hypnotic vocals and an aesthetic that draws equally from gothic imagery, brutalism and retro horror cinema. Live performances emphasize raw sonics and a cinematic tension that extends the studio work. After several initial releases, the project issued VILE VORTEX in 2022 and INSOMNIA in 2024. Noromakina has since continued to release singles and EPs, notably on the German label Cold Transmission Music, and collaborated with Spanish DJ‑producer Marga VM, also known as Ecléctica. Thematically, the work revolves around isolation, memory and more surreal imagery, moving between post‑punk and dark electronic scenes.
