Blazing Eternity

Active since the mid-1990s, Blazing Eternity comes from Copenhagen, Denmark, and belongs to an atmospheric metal strand that intersects doom, touches of death metal and gothic influences. The band first attracted attention in the underground with a few demos in the late 1990s, before releasing the 2000 album Times and Unknown Waters, where slow tempos, melodic guitars and dark atmospheres structure lengthened tracks. In 2003 Blazing Eternity refined this approach with A World To Drown In, which gives more room to melancholic moods, clearer vocals and arrangements close to gothic rock while retaining a doom foundation. Blazing Eternity’s aesthetic rests on a constant contrast between rhythmic weight, harmonized guitar lines and more ethereal instrumental passages, with lyrics marked by introspection, loss and solitude. After this run of records, Blazing Eternity’s activity became more irregular, but the band remained identified on the Danish and European metal scene as a project centered on melodic atmospheres and the transitions between extreme metal and gothic rock influences.
