Psyk

Based outside Hawaii after growing up on the Big Island, Psyk develops electronic music nourished by references ranging from Hawaiian pop to new wave and 1980s heavy metal. Before this project, he writes and performs lyrics in the underground hip-hop scene under the name ColorBlind Alchemist, an experience that leaves a mark on his sense of rhythm and atmosphere. Psyk began producing seriously in 2016 and quickly steered his work toward a synthwave aesthetic, with darksynth and cinematic offshoots. His tracks rely on retro textures, dark swaths, clear melodic lines, and a tension inherited as much from film music as from revisited analog electronic sounds. Among the releases attributed to Psyk are The Neon Demon EP, followed by the album Requiem, which marks a shift toward more introspective writing. Parallel to production, Psyk regularly performs in DJ sets and on stages related to independent electronic music, where his universe intersects with artists such as Tonebox, Droid Bishop, Lazerpunk, TOKYO ROSE, or Lucy in Disguise.
