Esprit D'Air
Formed in London in 2010 around Japanese and British musicians, Esprit D'Air blends alternative metal, electronicore, and gothic and progressive touches with melodic songwriting influenced by J‑rock and lyrics in both Japanese and English. Initially conceived as a band, Esprit D'Air released the EP Deai in 2010 and The Hunter in 2012, before gaining wider visibility with the single Shizuku, which became the first Japanese-language track featured in the J‑rock category of the game Rock Band 3. After disbanding in 2013, Esprit D'Air was revived in 2016 under Kai's leadership; he turned it into his solo studio project while assembling musicians for live performances. This second phase centers on the albums Constellations (2017), Oceans (2022), Seasons (2024) and Aeons (2025). Esprit D'Air's sound relies on the alternation between massive guitars, electronic textures, clear choruses and dark atmospheres, in a direct format despite highly crafted production. Over the years, Esprit D'Air has toured the UK and Europe and has engaged in several guest collaborations, notably with Ben Christo, Ryo Kinoshita, Tim Ripper Owens and Misstiq.
