Originally from Mississauga, Ontario and linked to the Toronto scene, anders, whose real name is Anders Ly, has been developing since 2016 a repertoire that blends contemporary R&B, melodic hip‑hop and trap. His intimate songwriting, flexible vocal lines and often dark, airy productions characterize his work. Born into a Chinese‑Vietnamese family, anders released his first tracks in 2016 and then shaped his path with the EPs 669 (2017) and Twos (2018), two projects made in part with FrancisGotHeat, 905LUCA and S.L.M.N. He followed with singles such as "Bad Habits", "Bossy" and "My Side of the Bed" in 2019, a period when he also expanded his collaborations — notably with Loud Luxury on "Love No More" (2018) and with Rich The Kid on "Sticky Situation" (2019). In 2021 anders released the EPs "Chaos" and "Honest", tightening the format toward a more direct urban R&B. His career also includes appearances at Canadian stages and festivals like NXNE, Osheaga and FVDED in the Park, alongside shows in Toronto and Mississauga. Anders continues this independent work with further collaborations, including "What I Like" with FRVRFRIDAY (2021) and "Not Impressed" with Dimi (2023).
